Time is valuable for working parents. There seems to be plenty of it. And when you think about your responsibilities, it undoubtedly comes at the bottom of your list to find room for self-care — beneath job, kids, house, and family, etc.

Focus on the physical
One way to address this problem is by selecting outdoor activities that you can do with your children and remain physically active regularly. You can go with them for a walk around the block, go swimming or cycling. Also, stretching and doing some yoga will enhance your health, increase strength, and also help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Nourish yourself with healthy food
Healthy food fuels your body so make sure to eat and drink healthy food. Load onto whole foods such as wheat, nuts, lean meats, fresh fruits, and vegetables.
Relax in a hot bath, wash your worries away, and just for once think about yourself. Have a spa day scheduled. Sneak in a nap. Go to the salon and dress yourself up. Look into the mirror, smile, and say, “You did well”.
Connect with your buddies
Friendships play a major role in improving your mental health. Friends will help you enjoy good times through hard times and encourage. Friends prevent loneliness and help boost your happiness and reduce your stress. So go out and spend time with your friends.
Give preference for sleeping.
Moms usually get drawn into the “get stuff done before the kids wake up” mentality. If you sleep less than six hours, you can experience increased appetite which causes weight gain and increases the risk of depression. At bedtime, you should stay away from food, alcohol, emotionally upsetting conversations, and stimulants (such as caffeine and nicotine). Establishing a regular and relaxing bedtime routine. Having proper sleep is a very simple and important activity for taking care of yourself. It alleviates stress, strengthens the immune system, and boosts memory. Skimping on sleep routinely puts you at risk for severe health problems such as diabetes and heart disease. Conclusion: Don’t cut back on sleep, even if you are tempted to accomplish just a few more tasks while the children are asleep.
Stay committed to yourself.
As a mom, in the daily routines of family life, it’s easy to lose yourself: laundry, meal preparation, paying bills, cleaning, and the list goes on. 10 years have passed before you know it and you’re a shadow of your former self.
